How Plumo Works

Place Plumo beneath your pillow, connect it to your phone through Bluetooth and play whatever helps you drift off. The sound travels through the pillow to the ear resting above it, so you can listen without wearing earbuds or filling the room with sound.

Set the auto off timer for 30, 60 or 90 minutes, then control the volume directly from the buttons on the side. If your pillow is particularly thick or dense, place Plumo beneath the pillowcase instead.

What makes Plumo different

Most sleep earbuds work by pushing a driver into your ear canal and hoping you can sleep through the pressure. Most bedside speakers work by throwing sound into the room and hoping the person next to you doesn't mind. Most people give up on both, and either lie awake in silence or keep waking their partner.

Plumo works differently. At 12 mm it sits flat inside the pillow, and PillowPath™ delivery sends the sound through the fabric to the ear resting on it. Sit up and it's already gone.

Nothing in your ears

No pressure, no ear canal pain, no earbud lost in the sheets at 3 a.m. You lie down, that's it.

They hear nothing

Your partner sleeps in total silence while you listen to whatever you want.

A week of nights per charge

Set a 30 minute timer and one charge carries you through about a week. No dead battery waking you mid night.

Set a timer. Fall asleep.

Auto-off at 30, 60 or 90 minutes. You don't have to stay awake to turn it off, and you don't wake up at 4 a.m. to a podcast ad.

How it works

1. Slide it under your pillow

At 12 mm thin and 48 g, you won't feel it. On a thicker pillow, slip it on top instead, under the pillowcase.

2. Connect to anything you listen to

Spotify, Audible, podcasts, YouTube, ASMR, sleep stories. One tap to pair, then it remembers. Built-in white noise if you'd rather leave your phone alone.

3. Sleep. It handles the rest.

Set your timer, close your eyes. Volume and timer sit on the rim, so you can reach them under the pillow without opening your eyes.

I've had moderate tinnitus for about six years. Nighttime is the worst part. The bedroom goes quiet and the ringing just takes over. I've been running a white noise machine loud enough to wake the dead, which unsurprisingly does not thrill my husband. My audiologist actually mentioned pillow speakers as an option months ago and I finally got around to trying this one. I run white noise through it at whatever volume actually masks my tinnitus and my husband sleeps through the whole thing completely undisturbed. I don't know why I waited so long. This has genuinely improved my quality of life.

I cannot stress enough how much earbuds have failed me over the years. I sleep on my side exclusively and within 20 minutes they're either digging into my ear canal or falling out onto the pillow. I've tried literally every sleep headband you can find on Amazon. They all either shift around or make my head sweat. Plumo is just flat under my pillow. I don't feel it. My ear doesn't hurt. I wake up and it's still there exactly where I put it. It's such a simple solution I'm annoyed it took me this long to find it.

My wife is one of those people who's asleep before her head fully hits the pillow. I need at least 40 minutes of a podcast to wind down and I've felt terrible about it for years. I've tried earbuds (painful), headbands (hot and uncomfortable), and just playing my phone quietly (she still heard it). Found Plumo on an ad and figured why not. First night I used it she slept straight through without stirring once. I could hear my podcast perfectly clearly. I actually cried a little. Sounds dramatic but three years of feeling guilty every single night takes a toll. This thing is a genuine relationship saver.

I travel for work about three weeks a month. Hotel sleep has always been a nightmare due to hallway noise, AC units and thin walls. I started using Plumo with a brown noise app and it has completely transformed my trips. It fits in my toiletry bag, the battery lasts the whole trip on one charge, and I have been waking up actually rested for the first time in years. My colleagues have noticed I am sharper in morning meetings. Not exaggerating even slightly. Highly recommend for anyone who needs something like this.

I have pretty bad generalized anxiety and my brain refuses to slow down at bedtime without something to focus on. Sleep stories and guided meditation are the only things that help but I kept destroying my earbuds by rolling onto them in the night. Plumo changed everything. I put on a sleep story, close my eyes, and I am asleep within about 15 minutes. That is not something I have been able to say for a very long time. Nothing touching my ears makes such a difference too because I do not wake up in discomfort anymore.

I have arthritis in my ears from wearing hearing aids for years and anything that goes in or around my ears is very uncomfortable. My granddaughter found this for me and she set it up in about two minutes. I have used it every single night since. I play nature sounds through it and I sleep better than I have in years. It is so simple to use. You just turn it on and press one button. Wonderful product and I am so glad this kind of technology exists.

FINALLY can sleep with anyone who snores! My partner snores and I have been dealing with it for three years. White noise through Plumo under my pillow masks it completely. I did not hear them once last night unless I lifted my head right off the pillow. If I had not experienced it myself I would think I was exaggerating. This is the greatest thing I have bought this year by a distance.

First the positives: the speaker does what it's supposed to and the controls are relatively intuitive. That said, I would have liked a proper manual, because the volume control is a bit laggy and takes a while to respond. It also keeps forgetting the last volume setting. My other gripe is that the included USB-A to USB-C cable doesn't deliver enough power to charge it properly, so I switched to a USB-C to USB-C cable I already had at home. Small annoyances on a product I still use every night.

Side sleeper for life. Every pair of earbuds either falls out or jabs into my ear canal within minutes. Sleep headbands get hot and shift. Plumo is flat, stays put, and I forget it is even there. Sound still reaches me clearly. Finally a solution that respects how I actually sleep.

I have spent more money than I care to admit on sleep gadgets. Smart pillows, white noise machines, sleep trackers, all of it. Plumo is the only one still in use six months later. Everything else is in a drawer. Buy this one and skip everything else.

My girlfriend and I had been having actual arguments about this. She needs complete silence and I need music to fall asleep. It has been that way my whole life. We even tried sleeping in separate rooms for a week which was awful for both of us. A friend mentioned Plumo and I was skeptical but desperate enough to try. It has been two months and we have not had a single argument about it since. She genuinely cannot hear it even when she has actively tried to. I can hear it fine at low volume. Problem completely solved and I tell everyone I know who has a similar issue.

Works great under my pillow every single night.

My audiologist recommended a pillow speaker for my tinnitus months ago and I finally got around to trying Plumo. I use it with a binaural beats sleep track and it works beautifully. The sound is clear, I can adjust it to exactly the right level, and my wife sleeps undisturbed right next to me. Highly recommended for anyone managing tinnitus at night.

Battery life is the reason I chose Plumo over cheaper options. It lasts multiple nights on a single charge for me. No more waking up at 3 a.m. to a dead device. The button layout took me a couple of nights to learn in the dark, but reliability is what matters when you depend on something every night.

My brain has a lot to process every day and at night it really struggles to slow down. I have tried meditation apps, breathing exercises, everything. Plumo with a sleep story playing quietly through the pillow is genuinely the only thing that helps my mind calm itself before sleep. I fall asleep so much faster now and I wake up actually feeling rested. Cannot recommend this enough to anyone with a busy or anxious mind.

Bought three. One for me, one for my sister, one for my mom. We all have the same problem. Husbands who sleep like logs while we need audio to wind down. Bought one for myself first and ordered two more the next morning. All three of us use it every single night now. Cannot recommend it enough.

Happy with my purchase. The speaker does the job well, sound is a touch thin for music but fine for podcasts.

My roommate snores loudly. I was getting maybe five hours a night and failing my morning lectures. Brown noise through Plumo under my pillow masks it enough that I can actually sleep through. My roommate has no idea I am running audio all night. Grades are up and I am not a zombie anymore. Worth every penny of my student budget.

I have tried white noise machines, weighted blankets, sleep headbands, expensive earbuds, and apps. Plumo is the only one that stayed in the rotation past the first week. Simple, effective, and it actually respects both people in the bed.

I share hotel rooms with a colleague at conferences and I could never run my usual sleep audio without keeping him awake. Plumo goes under my pillow and nobody else in the room hears a thing. I stopped dreading those nights entirely. It lives in my suitcase now and I never think about it again.

As a strict side sleeper I had given up on nighttime audio. Plumo brought it back. Thin enough that I feel nothing, clear enough that I hear everything I need. Partner on the other side of the bed hears nothing. Perfect balance.

Clear enough for spoken content, less impressive on music

We have young kids who sometimes wake and make noise. Plumo under my pillow with a low brown noise track helps me stay asleep through the usual night sounds without needing a full white noise machine that wakes everyone. Subtle and effective.
